This may be the most challenging category, but the only thing I could come up with is a gift card. You can’t go wrong with a $10-$20 food or gas card cause you gotta eat, and you will need gas. If things don’t work out, you don’t break the bank.
If all else fails, “listen and pay attention.” At some point, you will have a conversation about his/her wants or needs regarding their craft but stick to your budget. This stuff is expensive.
